Solace 18XL

At a carrying capacity of over 400 lbs, the Solace 18XL Expedition is the kayak for anyone wanting to carry large loads.

This boat was designed for larger paddlers. If you are 6’ 3” or over, this boat was made with you in mind! And if you have size 14-17 feet, this is the only boat for you! The roomy cockpit design allows paddlers to change positions on those long trips.  

The beautiful, fast paddling hull has a long waterline of 208” and an overall length of 219”.  The beautifully shaped, upswept bow parts the waves, while the v-shaped deck funnels water off quickly, keeping the paddler dry and comfortable. This kayak can be comfortably rolled due to the height of the deck at the rear of the cockpit.

For greater safety & convenience, there are double bulkheads behind the cockpit, allowing for the installation of an optional day hatch.  If the day hatch is not needed, the second bulkhead can simply be left out when completing the final bulkhead installation. Sealed bow and stern bulkheads are standard to the construction of our kits, so ballast and buoyancy are the focus of the touring category.
