Trillium 21

The Trillium 21 is the largest of our kits, and is a tandem kayak that offers the opportunity for a third paddler in the centre cockpit. This kayak is very fast due to its long and gentle waterline and its multi chine hull. If you are looking for a tripping and adventuring kayak, the Trillium 21 has a ton of carry capacity (650 pounds) and spacious cockpits for long traverses. This kayak is capable of coastal paddling for long periods of time without support, and is ideal for windy and wavy conditions.

In spite of its size, the Trillium only weights 66 pounds (average) due to its composite construction and high strength Okume BS 1088 Mahogany Marine Plywood. This results in a kayak that is not heavy to store and portage and more capacity for gear and people.

Due to the size of the craft, it will take some time to assemble the panels and you will have larger surfaces that require fibreglass but the build time averages around 150 hours.

For coastal paddling, rudder and skeg kits are available for this model, however for most paddling this is not required.
